Hope VI Program

The Hope VI Program, formerly called the Urban Revitalization Demonstration (URD), has undertaken a National Action Plan to transform severely distressed public housing.

This is accomplished by

1. rebuilding public housing
2. enhancing residents' self-sufficiency
3. lowering the concentration of poverty by promoting integration of mixed-income communities
4. networking with various economic and other entities to obtain support and resources.

Hope VI encompasses two different grants:

1. Hope VI Revitalization grants
2. Hope VI Demolition grants
