Caregiver Codes
The following information is from the Family Caregiver Support Network:
Codes To Live By
The word “code” is defined in the dictionary as “any set of principles or rules of conduct.”
Everyone lives subconsciously or consciously by a personal set of codes that is a combination of beliefs, morals and understandings about life. For many family caregivers of older adults, personal goals and codes for self-care become secondary to meet the needs of the older adults they care about.
The Family Caregiver Support Network is available to help you live by these codes. Happy and healthy family caregivers are better caregivers for themselves and for the older adults they care about.
