Julie Fann, Frontier Health Systems

Julie earned a bachelor’s degree in English from Wheaton College and a master’s degree in English from East Tennessee State University. She has worked as an editorial assistant, reporter, copy editor, adjunct professor and grant writer. Through employment with the Bazelon Center for Mental Health Law in Washington, D.C. she learned about existing and developing federal mental health legislation. Now, due to her father’s struggle with mental illness and her own lived experience, she is very grateful for the opportunity to be a Peer Wellness Coach with Frontier Health and to provide hope to those who live with and seek to recover from mental illnesses.

Leanne Crawford, Cherokee Health Systems

Leanne joined the My Health, My Choice, My Life team in September 2013 as a Peer Wellness Coach at Cherokee Health Systems in Morristown, Tennessee. Leanne graduated from Tusculum College in 1995 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology. After college she devoted several years to working with children and families. In 1998, she was awarded Child Care Worker of the Year at Holston United Methodist Home for Children where she worked as a Resident Counselor. Later that year, she was awarded the State of Tennessee Child Care Worker of the Year. For 10 years, Leanne was employed by the State of Tennessee as a Supervisor in Child Protective Services.  In 2007, Leanne earned her Master of Arts degree in Organizational Management from Tusculum College. Before beginning her journey as a Peer Wellness Coach, Leanne taught Psychology for two terms at National College of Business and Technology. Having struggled with panic disorder since she was a teenager, Leanne feels blessed to be able to help others realize that recovery is real.

Dina Savvenas, Frontier Health Systems 

Constandina “Dina”  Savvenas, a Johnson City, TN native,  earned a BS in Psychology and an MA in Storytelling from ETSU.  She worked as a case manager for domestic violence victims during her studies, and moved west after graduation to pursue her wildest dreams of film acting. She has appeared on numerous TV shows, perhaps you’ve seen her on VH1’s Rock of Love with Bret Michaels.  She recently earned a certificate in personal training and is very passionate about holistic health and wellness.  Dina is extremely excited and grateful for the opportunity to be a Peer Wellness Coach with Frontier Health, and to be able to share her own victories with others seeking to overcome challenges similar to the ones she has faced.  Dina enjoys Theatre arts, Bellydance, and the Great Outdoors.

Jessica Collins, Helen Ross McNabb

Jessica holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Tennessee, and recently received an Associate’s degree in General Science from Roane State. She is currently enrolled at the University of Alabama in an online Food and Nutrition program, working on a second Bachelor’s degree.  Jessica is excited to apply her studies, along with her own lived experience with mental illness, toward helping others to make healthy lifestyle choices. Jessica has been working as a case manager with Helen Ross McNabb Center since January of this year.  With 4 cats, a dog, and a rabbit, Jessica is quite the animal lover.  She has also traveled extensively, having visited 11 European countries, as well as Mexico.
